went to mini Europe and walk around Brussels. tried mussels and of course hot chocolate. yummy.. and the best of all we went for chocolate hunting. the best is Leonidas albeit Guylian is still a must buy.

Holland & Belgium tour - Day 3

|
the final day in Holland was spent at the Keukenhof in Lisse, near Laiden. A 32 hectares of traditional and modern landscape gardening is full of tulips and other bulb flowers. A breathtaking view. Full of colors. just wish i have a garden like this. Sadly, we spent only about 3 hours as we need to catch the train to Brussels. should have come earlier...and spent the whole day just enjoying the colorful view.

Holland & Belgium trip - Day 2

we planned to visit 3 of Holland's landmark namely the flower garden Keukenhof, cheese market in Alkmaar and fishing village in Volendam. such an optimistic plan. these 3 places are totally out of the way from each other. Keukenhof is on the west, Alkamaar up to the north and Volendam is at the east side from amsterdam. pheeww.. well at the end we managed to visit the cheesy town Alkmaar, fishing village at Volendam and clog factory at Monnickendam. and after all day walking around Holland we still have the energy to explore Amsterdam at nite..phheww. really enjoying ourselves albeit our tiredness. oh ya we tried frites and profetjes...yummylicious

holland & belgium trip - 1st day
|
|
we went to Notts on Wednesday afternoon as we need to catch our flight early Thursday morning. spent the nite at Notts airport. phew..my first time sleeping at the airport. well it was not that bad at all. our flight was at 7 am and reached amsterdam at 9 am (amsterdam local time - an hour later than UK). checked in at our hostel and off we go to explore Holland. We decided to go to Rotterdam without actually knowing where to go. the tourist infromation at amsterdam was not that helpful. arrived at Rotterdam and luckily the tourist center (it is called VVV center in holland) is very helpful. we were guided to Kinderdijk, the field of 18 windmills. spent the evening enjoying the view at Kinderdijk before catching the last boat back to Rotterdam. at nite we walk around Amsterdam or specifically RLD (red light district)  since our hostel is located near the area  . tried the Dutch pancake. well actually we were attracted to the handsome Dutch waiter and decided to have our dinner at the restaurant. girls! anyways, after dinner we call it a day..my leg is hurting and i can barely open my eyes.

celabrated wawa's birthday today. it was supposed to be a suprise but then wawa has smelled laksa that we prepared for her when she entered the house..but then again..we had a blast..lotsa food. laksa, roasted chicken, tiramisu, lasagna, choc cakes..yummylicious! bbuurrrpppp..thanks to all the chef!
